Tropical Storm Linfa making landfall

China is bracing for the landfall of Tropical Storm Linfa today after it some Taiwan islands before making its way into southeastern China.   Linfa is expected to hit in Fujian province near Xiamen.  Guangdong province is also expected to be greatly affected by Linfa.  Ferry services and basics have been shut down in front of the pending landfall.

Tropical Storm Linfa is moving about 15 kilometers per hour and authorities are preparing to respond for possible flooding, landslides and mudslides in Guangdong, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.  The center of the storm was located 10 kilometers south of Kinmen at 7 pm local time, and was moving north-northeast shifting to northeast at 20 kilometers to 24 kilometers an hour, the weather bureau said. Kinmen is approximately 200 kilometers west of Taiwan’s main island, and 2 kilometers east of China’s southeastern city of Xiamen.
